Ministries

Food Closet

Established at Limestone in 1971, this ministry provides basic food items to those in need.

Holiday Food Baskets
In November and December, each year, Limestone members are invited to contribute items for a full course holiday meal such as turkeys, frozen pumpkin pies, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, rolls. The items are sorted and packed in boxes and are given to needy families in the area.

Comfort Shawl Ministry

This devoted group joins in prayer and fellowship to knit and crochet shawls, lap blankets and baby caps that are given to those in need of spiritual comfort or celebrating joys such as the birth of a new baby. Meets fourth Wednesday each month.

Limestone Men's Ministry
This group has as its mission to support and encourage all men to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Meets for breakfast and Bible study the second Saturday of each month (September-July) at 8:00 a.m., various locations.

Health Ministry
This ministry is led by our Parish Nurse and helps our congregation care for one another by attaining, maintaining and/or regaining the best possible whole person health, wellness of body, mind and spirit, that can be experienced.

Group Workcamps
Limestone youth and volunteer leaders participate in off-site mission workcamps during the summer, sponsored by Group Workcamps Foundation, Loveland CO. Hundreds of teenagers from youth groups across the country repair and transform homes of those less fortunate while growing closer to Jesus.

In July 2018, Limestone partnered with St. Barnabas Episcopal Church to host a Group Workcamp in Wilmington. Free home repairs were completed for 32 residents in need. Limestone will be lead co-sponsor for Wilmington Workcamp July 12 - 18, 2020!

Rain Garden & Dry Meadow
This area, located between the two parking areas of our church, collects and filters runoff to send cleaner water downstream. The dry meadow provides food and shelter for small wildlife.

Caring for God's Creation
Limestone was certified as an Earth Care Congregation on October 7, 2011 and is committed to care for God's earth and to integrate environmental practices into all facets of church life. We are a member of Delaware Interfaith Power & Light which marshals Delaware's faith communities to ensure a livable planet for this and future generations.
