Inquirer's Class

Persons may enter into active church membership at Limestone by:
  • Profession of faith (for a person who has not been a church member anywhere before)
  • Reaffirmation of faith in Jesus Christ (for a person who has been an inactive church member)
  • Transfer of certificate from some other church (for active members of another church)
The typical way someone joins Limestone involves several steps:
  • Participate in the opportunities we provide for worship, learning, service and fun.
  • Tell the pastors that you are interested in joining the church.
  • Attend an Inquirer's Class.
  • Meet with the Session, the congregation's governing body of elders, to be received into membership.
  • Join our congregation during a worship service.

Persons who have not been baptized may do so by making their profession of faith and receiving baptism after appropriate instruction and examination by the Session. If a person has previously made a profession of faith in a particular church and is unable to secure a certificate of transfer, this person shall reaffirm publicly his or her profession of faith and a willingness to accept responsibility in the life of the church.
