Middle School Youth Group
Our goal in Middle School Youth Group is to continue our faith journey while having fun with our friends!
We meet after worship from noon till 1:30 pm, two or more Sundays per month.
Our schedule is varied to accommodate the schedules of our members.
Service Events and Fun Events are planned throughout the year in addition to the regular meetings.
High School Youth Group
Our High School Youth Group meets at 12 noon, after church, on Sundays during the school
year. Weekly meetings include food, discussions, games and more. At least once a month, there is a special service activity or fun trip (One Shot Service Sunday, CROP walk, winter retreat, etc). Students come from many area high schools, and many of them do not know each other outside of church, so there is a wonderful opportunity to form a new, caring, church youth community together. Join us!
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is offered for children ages three through ten years old. It is generally held the last full Monday-through-Friday week in July. All are invited! Older children and youth, as well as adults, are encouraged to serve are teachers and volunteers.
Daily activities include Bible story, arts and crafts, music, mission, recreation and snack, based on a biblical theme for the week.
We end the week with a program of singing, slides/photos of the week, and fun, followed by an indoor picnic lunch in
Klair Fellowship Hall.
Join us for this fun and popular week, when we find joy in being the church together.
Joyful Noise Singers - Children’s Choir
Come One and All and Join Us!
Sunday morning rehearsals: 9:30—10:00 a.m.
All singers from 1st grade on up are welcome to join the Joyful Noise Singers. We rehearse in the Choir Room on Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. and break forth into joyous song and music during worship services approximately once a month. You do not have to be a member of Limestone Church to sing with us! We supply music, choir robes and fun. The first rehearsal is September 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Email Linda Wardell if you have any questions.
Good Books for Children to Enjoy During Worship or at Home
In the back of the sanctuary, there is a book rack with many wonderful, attractive children’s books. These are books about Bible stories, making good decisions, helping others, understanding emotions, mission, and other topics about what it means to follow Jesus. Children may stop by the book rack and pick up a couple of books to look at during those times in worship when it is tempting to be wiggly. Children may also borrow books to take home and read during the week. Please bring them back the next Sunday or as soon as possible so others can enjoy them, too!
Children’s Worship Bags
Children may also pick up worship bags with clipboard, Bible story activity sheets, and crayons to use and enjoy during worship. Children are welcome in worship at Limestone Church, and worship bags make it a bit easier for them to stay for the worship services.
Children and youth, as well as adults, are encouraged to participate in mission activities of Limestone Church, through bringing donations of food for the Food Closet; participating in the annual CROP walk; filling UNICEF, Cents-ability, and One Great Hour of Sharing mission coin banks throughout the year; making and sending birthday cards and get-well cards to homebound members; and packing Health/Hygiene Kits for Church World Service.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Project: Every year on Martin Luther King Day, Church School children and their families, as well as others from our church and community, gather in Klair Hall for a day of learning and service. Activities include watching a movie or hearing a speaker about civil rights/justice issues, sharing lunch, and assembling hundreds of Church World Service health/hygiene kits to be sent to disaster victims in the U.S. and overseas. This is a wonderful, hands-on mission activity that even the youngest in our church can participate in. Call the church office
(994-5646) for more information.
